Cards

We were thrilled when charter members Gretchen Day and Robert Law presented us with a proposal to donate their significant talents to the Friends by producing a set of note cards as a fundraiser. The cards are sold in sets of eight different designs that commemorate both the beautiful flowers that once grew on the Dominion Seed House property and the world renowned mock-Tudor style buildings that stood on the site for over 70 years.

Gretchen Day has always loved painting flowers. Her watercolour paintings capture the stunning beauty of the magnificent specimens that grew in the fields of the Dominion Seed House years ago.

Robert Law is perhaps best known for his pen and ink drawings of popular local landmarks. He has drawn dozens of them during his artistic career, some of which have graced his own greeting cards. Mr. Law's sketch of the famous Dominion Seed House building is featured on the inside of each of the floral cards.

In this time of electronic greetings, these cards offer a traditional way to share the heritage of Georgetown with friends and family around the world, while supporting an exciting community project at the same time.

Net proceeds from the cards go entirely towards helping to build the Old Seed House Garden at the corner of Guelph St. and Maple Ave. They are available at Foodstuffs on Main St., Georgetown, Office Magic and Prosperity One, both on Guelph St., Georgetown, and Bests Harbour in Glen Williams. $10 per package, including tax. Each package contains 8 different designs.
